I've been really good at starting my day off with 15 minutes of yoga. I thought I'd share some of the basic poses I do. I don't do all of these each day; it all depends on how much time I have.
I start of with some standing deep breathing:
I then move on to the standing reed pose:
Next comes the sun salutation (which I absolutely love) [Sometimes I'll do this routine a few times in one session]:
Then I practice some balance poses:
After that I do some floor work - including cobra pose, bow pose, and camel pose:
Some of my other favorite poses are:
I also sometimes do some basic static stretching - hamstring, quads, biceps, and triceps.
Doing yoga each morning really feels great. I highly recommend it - just 15 minutes each day :)

That is such a wonderful way to start the day & thanks for including the photos! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's made a difference to my mornings! I've kept it simple so that I can make sure I keep it up each day.
DeleteI've only been to two yoga classes but found them to be relaxing. My daughter gave me some yoga DVD's but I didn't get very far with them. I just found a good deal for a gym for one month and they have yoga classes that I'm going to try. I want to learn more about it. :)
ReplyDeleteI get distracted by yoga DVDs. That's why I've chosen my few favorite poses so I can do them to my own music and at my own pace.
DeleteI really want to get into doing yoga...have you found videos online or anything similar that are actually good for beginners?
ReplyDeleteThese are the basic poses that I've seen in pretty much all yoga classes. I haven't gone to videos. I've just based my routine on what I enjoy the most :)
