Motivation Monday

It's no secret that the past two to three weeks have really been a struggle for me. I just felt bogged down with a lot of stuff and found myself kinda going through the motions and doing things that I felt I 'had' to do versus really wanting to do them.

In the end, I told myself it doesn't matter. I have to think about what I REALLY want - and that is to get healthy and lose weight. I know that I've made a lot of progress recently, but I still have a long, long way to go. I do not want to move backwards (though my scale has hated me this week). Still, regardless of what happens, I know I need to stay focused, patient, and determined.

  1. Hi A! You know, some of this feeling is probably caused by having a demanding personality. I recognize it well because our personalities are very much alike.

I kept making fitness progress even after going down to about 5 to 6 hours of fitness per week. Much of my progress is from improved technique. Strangely, a person sometimes can often do better by reading excellent fitness technique books rather than spending more hours per week in the gym.

But, truth be told, I'd like to play around with a few more hours per week in the gym. On Saturday, I had an extra hour at the gym, during which I joked with a few more friends, got more cardio in, and still had 20 extra minutes to try new things. It was relaxed and...fun. Plainly more fun that hurrying through each workout.

  2. You are a perfectionist, I love that about you, I love your passion and fire for progress, I believe in you even when you don't believe in yourself, honestly if I was doing about half of what you do then I would be a happy lady. Find what your expectations are and make yourself happy x
